Cycling from John O’Groats to Lands End to Cure Adenoid Cystic Carcinoma
A merry bunch of nearly 30 cyclists (some of whom have even done some training!) are joining in the ride, taking 11 days to cycle the 920 miles from the top of Scotland to the tip of Cornwall. The JOGLE team is being led by Charlie Jaggard, whose gorgeous wife Mel is currently fighting with ACC.
ACC is incredibly rare – only 20 cases are diagnosed each year in the UK – and at he moment there is no cure. The bad news it is relentless, the good news is it is slow growing, so we do have some time to find that cure.
Some of the riders are coming along for a day, 7 of us are doing the whole thing, but we’re all in it to raise masses of cash and awareness to help the scientific research to find a cure. The entire tour is self-funded so 100% of the money we raise will go directly to the research efforts.
